International Conference on Nano Science and Technology
IIT Bombay
announces a
One day workshop on
Nano-materials and Devices for Energy Applications
Venue IIT Bombay Campus
Date: 17 February 2010
The supply of energy to all has become a global challenge. The use of fossil fuel for our energy application is limited by factors environmental pollution and limited supply. The alternative source of energy in the form of sun light, wind and biomass exist in abundance but there utilization is not cost-effective. Therefore technological interventions, based on extraordinary properties of nano-materials and devices, are required. Nanotechnology applications can be found in energy generation (solar cells), energy conversion (fuel cells) and energy storage (batteries, hydrogen storage). The objective of the workshop is to bring out the role that nanotechnology can play in the shaping the future of various energy related applications mentioned above.
The workshop will focus on the application of nanotechnology in several energy related areas, mainly energy generation, conversion and storage. Mainly following topics will be covered:
Solar Photovoltaic
Fuel Cells
BatteriesHydrogen
Storage
Leading scientist working in the area of nanotechnology and energy will be speaking in the workshop. There will be about 7 to 8 speakers. The list of speakers will be announced soon.
Online registration for the workshops is open to all registered participants of INCONSAT-2010. The registration for each workshop is limited to a maximum of 75 participants on first-come first serve basis. The registration fee for any of the workshops is Rs 500.
Registration fees are to be paid ONLY after approval of registration by the conveners. The registration fees are to be sent to the respective conveners in the form of an A/C payee demand draft in favor of 'ICONSAT-2010 WORKSHOPS' payable at Mumbai. Each demand draft should have the name of the participant and the focus area of the workshop (ENERGY) written at the reverse side of the demand draft. The envelope should be super scribed as ICONSAT2010 WORKSHOPS.
Accommodation is limited and can only be provided to those having accepted abstracts in ICONSAT 2010.
