International Conference on Nano Science and Technology
IIT Bombay
announces a
One day workshop on
Imaging at Nanoscale
Venue IIT Bombay Campus
Date: 17 February 2010
The objective of the workshop is to stimulate understanding for the application of electron microscopy towards nanotechnology and nanomaterials characterization. Research students, postdoctoral fellows and researchers from the academia and industries across the country are the target audience.
This one day workshop will feature presentations by internationally prominent scientists working at the frontiers of electron microscopy, both on instrumentation development and applications in materials science. There will be an opportunity to check out the newly installed HRTEM attached with nanoprobe EDAX at the central facility of IITBombay, and tour the as well!
The focus of the workshop will be on the following techniques:
- Advances in Basic Imaging using electron microscopy
- Energy Filtered Transmission Electron Microscopy (EFTEM)
- Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (EELS)
- Micro-analysis using Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS).
- International experts in this field
- Faculty experts in electron microscopy from IIT Bombay, BARC and TIFR.
Online registration for the workshops is open to all registered participants of INCONSAT-2010. The registration for each workshop is limited to a maximum of 75 participants on first-come first serve basis. The registration fee for any of the workshops is Rs 500.
Registration fees are to be paid ONLY after approval of registration by the conveners. The registration fees are to be sent to the respective conveners in the form of an A/C payee demand draft in favor of ‘ICONSAT-2010 WORKSHOPS’ payable at Mumbai. Each demand draft should have the name of the participant and the focus area of the workshop (IMAGING) written at the reverse side of the demand draft. The envelope should be super scribed as ICONSAT2010 WORKSHOPS.
Accommodation is limited and can only be provided to those having accepted abstracts in ICONSAT 2010.
